Neal made sure that Emma was curled safely into bed before ducking out of the bed room to clean up. He was just as tired as she was though he tried his best not to show it. He was quiet and quick to be at Henry's side when he woke, quieting the baby so that Emma could sleep a little bit longer.
His voice was deep and it didn't seem to matter what he was saying as long as he kept talking. Henry looked at him with large brown eyes and if Neal had to guess, he seemed confused, thinking something along the lines of; You aren't mom but I like you too.
Neal was surprisingly comfortable with that look. It was cute and reminded him a little bit of Emma.
Another hour passed before he looked down at Henry with a boyish grin. "What do you say about waking up mom? I'll tell you both a story then." Of course, Henry didn't answer.
Neal stepped into the bed room, sitting on the edge of the bed with Henry in his arms. "Hey. You awake?"
