It's been six months since Neal blurted out a proposal in the middle of screwing on the kitchen table (which she has scrubbed several times since then, to make sure it's clean), and he never took it back as just something he'd said in the heat of the moment, so now they're actually going ahead with this. She would have been happy with just going down to the courthouse, but Neal had wanted something more than that, and eventually she'd agreed, although she didn't see the point.

Neal had chosen the venue, since it was his idea anyway, and they put together a small guest list. Mainly just coworkers and neighbors, since neither of them has any family to invite. Once the wedding is over, they can start saving for a bigger place, and Henry can have a room of his own.

She found a simple dress that didn't cost too much, and as she hears the music play, she starts down the aisle to where Neal and Henry are waiting for her.

The day she had never expected to have is here.

Neal walked over with a middle aged woman walking at his heels.

He smiled at Emma and Henry before leaning forward to speak to them both. "It's just for one night. It'll be fine." Henry will sleep through most of the time that Emma and Neal are gone. "Come on. The car is waiting. This is misses Frederickson. She'll take good care of Henry. We'll be picking him up first thing in the morning."

After breakfast.

Well. She looks like she knows what to do with a baby, at least, which is something. But Emma still needs to know a little more before she agrees to leave her son alone with this woman.

"How did you find her?" she asks Neal. Some random person he heard about somewhere? Not taking of her son.

"She's Jame's wife. You know the tech guy in my office. They have two kids: 6 and 4. And a lot of experience with babies. He'll be fine. I wouldn't trust him with anyone I didn't trust." The fact that he knew and worked with her husband and knew that they had two kids was the only reason Neal had asked her.

"She runs a day care in the afternoons. I thought if this goes well we'll be able to put Henry there before preschool." It was evident that this was something they'd talk about years down the road by the way that Neal spoke.

"If you have any questions I'm sure she's happy to answer them?" Neal stepped to the side allowing the woman to step forward. "Yes. I know how hard it is to leave him but you deserve tonight. I have both of your numbers in case I need to reach you."

Well. Okay. Maybe she knows how to take care of her baby. Emma knows Neal's right, this is a night for them, and they should have it. She turns back to Henry and strokes his hand. "Okay. You be good for your babysitters. We'll see you tomorrow."

Neal waited until Emma was done saying goodbye to Henry before taking her by the hand and leading her out towards the car. He didn't rush her but the moment they were out of sight he pulled her into his arms, placing a very eager kiss against her lips.

"You're beautiful."

She rests her hands lightly against his chest while he kisses her, and responds with a smile. "Keep up talking like that and you won't be sleeping much tonight."

Except he will, because she will, because it's their first night without a baby to keep them up.

"That is the plan." He admits with a cocky grin. While Neal and Emma's meeting hadn't been the sort that's written about in a story book, Neal will never forget that she called him a pervert. In a way, he tried to live up to that though he was always very playful in his advances and it was only when it was the two of them alone.

"Just remember I have to drive there." He turned over the engine and took off towards their hotel. It wasn't a perfect place, it wasn't very far either, but they'd be alone and the window had a nice view of the New York City skyline.

"You are a pervert." But she married him anyway, so it's obviously not that big of a deal. "If you have any issues with driving, it's your problem, nothing caused by me."

"Yes but I'm your pervert." He smiled over at her and pressed his lips against her cheek.

Neal can totally do that and drive.

"Well I should have picked one who knows to keep his eyes on the road when he's driving." They don't want to make Henry an orphan or something, Neal.

"We'll have time for that later."

Neal turned his eyes back towards the road at Emma's thinly veiled command. "As you wish." His voice was light and warm. There was nothing in the world that could upset his happy mood today. He was with the woman he loved, they were married and going to start a family together.

It'd been a long journey to get here, one that Neal hadn't thought possible.

"Mmm." He hummed softly. "How much later?"

As he asked he pulled into the hotel parking lot, cut the engine and pulled the parking break.

"Maybe we should at least wait until we get inside, don't you think?" Just a suggestion. She gets out of the car and then reaches into the back for her overnight bag. She stuck a surprise in there for Neal, which she'll show him later.

"Maybe." He teased as he pushed the door open and grabbed his own bag from the back seat. It wasn't a very large bag since it really only had a change of clothes in it and a toothbrush but it was needed if he was going to look like a functional human being tomorrow.

He walked around the car and took Emma's hand before locking the beetle and heading inside towards the check in counter. He's fairly sure their room should have a heart shaped bathtub in it.

She waits patiently while he gets them checked in. Once they're in the room, she takes a look around it, until she finds the bathtub. "Really?"

Neal is such a dork.

Neal looked comically heartbroken. "What? It's the only way we can both take a bath." Cheap hotels didn't have a lot of options. He tossed his bag on the closest chair and placed a hand over his chest.

"You wound me Emma." The smile spreading over his mouth suggests otherwise.

"How about we get you into something more comfortable?" Who didn't want to try out a heart shaped tub?

"Only me? That doesn't sound like a very good bath." She's teasing him though. "Something more comfortable for a bathtub would be nothing at all."

"Then lets get you into nothing and then both of us in the bath." He was missing a step in there but Neal didn't care. He stepped up behind Emma and began removing her shirt for her.

"Somebody's a little impatient." They're married now, and they'll have plenty of chances for this. Not always without Henry, of course, but plenty of time. Somebody's also having all the fun himself. She turns around to face him and starts to unbutton his shirt.

"Can you blame me?" He asked with a grin as she turned and began to unbotton his shirt. Neal waited and watched as she handled each button and loosened his shirt. There was something very attractive and alluring about the process.

"If you want, I can wait for you to undress me."

"No." She hasn't forgotten their first time after Henry was born, how impatient they both were, how they had hurried and had to try again to be satisfied.

"If you don't ruin my dress, we can undress each other at the same time." It's not the fanciest dress ever, but she still paid good money for it.

Neal laughed softly as he began to pepper her neck with kisses. "I think I can manage that." His voice was low and soft as his fingers circled Emma's bust and began to unclip and unzip her dress. He knew how they worked and with skilled thief-like dexterous fingers, he had no trouble getting her dress to loosen.

"All you have to do is step out of it." He kissed her cheek again with a bit of a cock smile.

While he's working on her dress, she unbuttons his shirt, then her hands move down to unfasten his pants. "Same thing for you."

Neal chuckled before doing what he was told and stepping out of his pants.

He watched her as she stepped out of her dress. Emma was undeniably sexy. Even when she wasn't standing in her underwear.

Neal exhaled a slow breath before tugging at her panties while unclipping her bra at the same time. He was very dexterous and found it easy to remove what was left of her clothing while placing light kisses along her neck.

"You really do have tricky fingers." She's impressed by his trick. "I don't even have to do that myself. Should we get some water going in that tub you like so much?"

There was no hiding the smile that spread over Neal's lips or the amusement shining in his eyes. "I'm lucky that impresses you." He'd had a long time to get good at using his fingers.

"Mmmm, okay." He didn't want to pull away but the warm water sounded nice.

Neal released Emma after one quick passionate kiss to go fill up the tub with warm water.
